Every year it seems as though the Blizzard retreat gets better and better.  This year was no different, there were lights, cameras, action, worship, great speaking, fun cabins, great leaders and students, and best of all the Spirit of God was doing some serious work in the lives of His people. 

     The male leaders made a pact a few weeks before Blizzard that we would all grow 'staches for the retreat.  Nobody wanted to actually walk around with a moustache for that long so all our guy leaders had beards or gotees which came off just before we left for Blizzard leaving a thin line of facial hair above our top lips.  Let me tell you- it was a pretty nasty sight.  Some of us had thick Burt Reynoldsy type ' staches, others of us had what looked like specks of dirt on our faces, and most of us just had plain gross looking pieces of facial hair.  Some of our wives are the female leaders and they were not to impressed with team 'stache!  ( we ended up shaving them off on Saturday night as even we couldn't stand them!)

     Our theme for this year is "Rooted" in Christ, and Christllike Character which was the main thrust of the Blizzard messages.  Jarrett Stevens (one of the best speakers that I have ever heard, this man truly has a gift from God!) spoke to us about being rooted in community, being rooted in Christ as He was rooted to the father- and told us some hilarious stories as well!

     The Worship was led by a band called Life Support they were very good!  The students loved them and their honest hearts and love for God ushered us into the presence of God. 

     We had communion together as a group, had small group times to unpack all the stuff we were learning and relationships were deepened with God and with each other.  Thanks for all your support, we need all the prayer and help we can get to ensure that these high impact strategic events can happen.
